What PopScript's auto captions do

PopScript transcribes your video before you edit it. Auto captions reuse that transcript, so there's nothing to type and nothing to sync by hand.

Because the captions come from the edited transcript, words you cut are gone from the captions too. You never end up with an "um" on screen that you already removed from the video.

Who needs captions on every video

Anyone posting short-form. A lot of people scroll with the sound off, and captions are what keep them watching long enough to turn the sound on.

  • UGC creators delivering ads that have to work on mute
  • TikTok Shop sellers and affiliates where the product name has to land in the first seconds
  • Coaches and educators whose viewers want to follow along
  • Brands that need a consistent caption look across every post

Why built-in captions matter

Captioning in a separate app means exporting, importing, and fixing timing every time you change the edit. When captions live in the same place as your transcript, a change to the edit is a change to the captions.

Clean captions also depend on a clean transcript. Use fix word to correct a low-confidence word once, and the fix carries into the captions.

How PopScript handles captions

  • Generate captions for the whole video or just the selected clip
  • 12 style presets, plus fonts, colors, size, stroke, background and shadow
  • Set position, alignment, words per line and lines per caption
  • Find and replace across every caption at once
  • Choose the spoken language, or let PopScript detect it
  • Captions never cross a clip boundary, so cuts stay clean

Auto captions are included in the Pro and Pro Plus plans. See pricing.

Example workflow

From raw take to captioned video

  1. 1

    Import or record

Bring in your take. PopScript transcribes it and removes the filler words, silences and retakes.

  2. 2

    Tap Captions

Captions are generated from your edited transcript, timed to your words.

  3. 3

    Pick a style

Choose one of 12 presets, then adjust font, color, size and position until it looks like your brand.

  4. 4

    Export and post

Resize to 9:16 and export. Captions are burned into the video, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Frequently asked questions

Are the captions burned into the video?

Yes. Captions are part of the exported video, so they show up the same way on every platform.

Do cut words disappear from the captions?

Yes. Captions come from your edited transcript, so anything you cut from the video is cut from the captions too.

Can I fix a wrong word in the captions?

Yes. Use fix word on the transcript, or find and replace to change a word everywhere at once.

Which plans include auto captions?

Auto captions are part of Pro and Pro Plus. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
